Alex Stoddard started taking photographs at the age of 16. He used photography to express himself and he focus on surreal portraits.
I chose Alex and this photograph as I think it remined me of Kirsty Mitchell and Katerina Plotnikova. The snake in this photograph reminded me of the model with a snake around her head. It has the same colour and the beautiful aesthetic. As for Kirsty Mitchell They used the same vibrant colour for their photography. This photograph is very fairy tale like and appear to be a in fantasy world just like the both photographer did in their work. This work was title “The fall of man”.
I also chose this photograph because I think it visually beautiful. The red apple against the green grass stood out to me. It almost seems like a reference from the bible Adam and Eve. The naked man beside the women made him appear to be vulnerable and the women in the white dress look innocent laying there. The snake around them work as a leading line towards the subject, however it also symbolises danger.
